The MFISH are a rock band made up of 3 chaps who love the British pop, rock and song-writing tradition. Influences include Soundgarden, Jeff Buckley, Living Colour, Led Zeppelin, Nick Drake, the Damned, Queen, the Manics, as well as music outside the ‘rock/pop’ realm.
The MFISH are based in Reading and will be gigging regularly in the Berks / Oxon / Bucks / Hants / Surrey / London area from 2006. Demo recordings of 5 songs are available.
Jamie (guitar, voice), from
the Isle of Wight, has played with musical outfits of the rock, jazz, folk and
orchestral variety in both the UK and Hungary. These days Jamie gives the MFISH
both thoughtful charm and aggressive doom.
Carl (bass, voice,
keyboards), hails from Gothenburg, Sweden’s capital of both classical music and
heavy/death metal, has performed with outfits of all descriptions: heavy metal,
function bands, crooners; has done session work and been the musical director
of the Gothenburg Opera House. Carl gives the MFISH a solid, throbbing bass
base, complete with occasional screams.
Bruce
(drums) progressed from trashy new wave-inspired colleges bands with
unmentionably bad names to being a core member of British hard pop band MINX
during a longer-than-expected stay in Tokyo. Bruce now brings bouncy pop
sensibility to the MFISH.
